We saw a newly appointed
professor in Thermal Lab. He was looking smartly dressed, wearing shining tie
with matching suit. I thought him to be the expert of subject - ‘Determining
viscosity of a lubricant’.
That experiment turned out
to be pretty simple.
After passing final year
examination I happen to join the teaching faculty. I was asked to report in
Thermal Lab.
The professor who conducted
the experiment became friendly with me. I reminded him that he demonstrated
‘Determining viscosity of a lubricant’ for our class.
He mentioned that it was a
dreadful experience for him to conduct that experiment, he had to prepare for a
week. Although the experiment took 20 minutes, it was just like a life sentence
for him.

It was the first period and I was going to deliver my
very first lecture on Engineering
Drawing. The students were entering the Class room, one of my colleagues
also entered in the Drawing Hall, along with the students.
Immediately after the lecture, practical classes started
and I was sitting with my colleague, he advised me to call one particular
student and punish him.
I asked my colleague, “Why?”
He told me that that fellow was uttering some words while
entering the class room,
I told my colleague, “No problem.”
I did not get disturbed by the comment.
During my routine checking round, I went to the student’s
seat, he asked me some question; I replied, “Please hold till evening time,
then after seeing your question I will be able to help you. You very well know
that I can’t see during day time.”
